(Or how I accidentally started changing the real estate game)
It all started in 2013 when I bought my first home. Honestly, I had no clue what I was doing—but my agent said it would be free for him to help, so I went for it! That experience kicked off a love affair with real estate, fueled by binge-watching Flip or Flop and thinking I was absorbing skills through the TV. Spoiler: I kind of was. Fast-forward a bit—my family started flipping homes, turning properties into duplexes, and figuring it out by just doing the thing.
In 2015, I sold that first home. But instead of going the “normal” route, I made my own. I negotiated a flat rate, paid only for the services I needed, and did the rest myself. Game-changer. I hired my own videographer, took professional photos, marketed it myself, found a buyer—and almost ended up in a lawsuit. So… maybe I needed a little more help than I thought. But hey—I paved my own path.
By 2016, I was working as a transaction coordinator—deep in the world of contracts, compliance, and backend magic. I got licensed in 2019 and hit the ground running, focusing on new construction and custom homes. First year in? Top rookie. Top charts. Performance awards from the largest brokerage in the state.
In 2020, I launched Brick By Brick. I wanted to make a bigger impact—beyond just selling homes. I started a real estate magazine, threw events that got the mayor’s attention, and claimed serious market share. People started paying attention.
I built a big team in 2021. But honestly? It didn’t feel right. Too cookie-cutter. So I paused. In 2024, with the help of a business coach, I created the thing I wished existed when I started: a personalized, assessment-based system that gives clients exactly what they need—and skips what they don’t. Because one-size-fits-all or DIY-without-support? Yeah, that can land you in hot water (ask me how I know).
“I never considered myself the ideal client,” I always say. “But that’s exactly why I built this—so people like me finally have a smarter, more flexible way to do real estate.”
